February 2020 Musings from the Wine Press

The first of the year always brings the promise of new beginnings and initiatives. This is especially true for RLV, as we are on the threshold of opening a new tasting room in Fort Worth at 411 S. Main. Fort Worth has always had a long proud tradition of promoting its West Texas heritage and roots including Texas wine!

RLV is excited to be a part of this vibrant area of Fort Worth with its array of restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and avant garde shops. Our vision is to complement our neighboring businesses and offer afternoons and evenings of enjoyment, warm hospitality and of course, RLV wine.

Our new tasting room is housed in a building that encompasses the 4 Eleven event space (voted best in Ft Worth), and several lux retail shops. The tasting room reflects similar aesthetics as in Coleman albeit in a different space and environment. In addition to the 2200 sq. ft. interior space, there is 1200 sq. ft. of exterior patio space with bar. The tasting room tables were produced from a local craft wood designer. Our menu offerings highlight select Texas artisan products with olive oils from Cordells (Abilene), Perini Ranch Mesquite smoked peppered tenderloin (Buffalo Gap), and Velduizen Texas Farmstead cheese (Dublin). Charcuterie items and other unique small plate items will be offered.

We hope you will all take the time to visit us in our new home as we expand the reach of RLV to our nearby urban Texas neighbors. We plan to be open in February so please check the website for updates: www.rlv.wine.

2017 RLV Corso

For our first wine club release of the year, we are highlighting the 2017 RLV Corso. This is the last wine of the 2017 vintage which was marked by a prolonged warm growing season (without extreme heat), allowing for long fruit hang time, resulting in more opulent fruit expression, higher sugar accumulation and greater alcohol production.

The 2017 RLV Corso has won Silver medals in the San Francisco International Wine Competition and Houston Uncorked.

Le Sprint

As many of you are aware, RLV maintains a strong relationship with our partner vintners in the Southern Rhone Valley of France. Through our relationship we have been able to bring Le Sprint sparkling wine back to both tasting rooms. This sparkling wine is produced by the traditional method and is 100% Chardonnay grape. It is a fine complement to our existing wines and is a delightful aperitif or enjoyed as a pre-dinner wine. Cheers!

New Website Design

If you have not been on our website recently, take a moment to visit it once again. We have incorporated Fort Worth and it has a new look, less clicks, and loads of information! www.rlv.wine.
