2019 RLV DUET
GOLD-2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition; SILVER 2021 Houston Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition
“The 2019 RLV Duet culminated from RLV’s gradual dalliance with French oak barrel fermentation and aging to achieve more roundness on the palate and complexity. Having the benefit of consultation from our French oenolgist, Guenhael Kessler, we have always maintained a subtle influence of oak in all wines produced. The 2019 RLV Duet, nearly half Marsanne, was barrel fermented with malolactic fermentation (MLF) while the Viognier, was fermented in tank with MLF blocked. There is more viscosity and density to the 2019 RLV Duet , and if not over chilled, you will find graceful elegance in body, and pleasing peach aromas with slight creaminess. The 2019 RLV Duet is an understated refined elegant wine.
2018 RLV CORSO
GOLD-2021 Houston Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition; SILVER-2021 TEXSOM International Wine Competition and SILVER- 2020 Lone Star International Wine Competition
Our third year in making the Corso! Italian style expression using 55% Sangiovese, 40% Montepulciano and 5% Barbera with aging 50% puncheon and 50% new French oak. Tasting Notes: aroma of roses on the nose followed by sweet red raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, carmel embraced by soft tannins with medium body and gentle soft finish. Pairs with pasta, roast chicken, salmon and pork tenderloin.
2020 RLV CINSAULT ROSÉ
GOLD-2021 TEXSOM International Wine Competition
Rancho Loma Vineyards is pleased again to present our newest vintage of Cinsault Rosé, a wonderfully brisk, fresh, palate cleansing wine to weather the summer heat. The 2020 RLV Cinsault Rosé has a fragrant nose of strawberry and raspberry that gives way to grapefruit, melon and bubblegum. I challenge you to have the discipline to stop drinking at just one glass.
2018 RLV THE TEMPTER
SILVER-2021 Houston Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition; SILVER-2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Our Texas version of Bordeaux is made from 3 separate blocks of Tempranillo 47%, Merlot 47% and Tannat 6% from Reddy Vineyard in the Texas High Plains AVA. The blend is aged for 18 months in 30% new French oak puncheon and barrel. Tasting Notes: Cedar forest floor nose. Forward black cherry, plum and blueberry with notes of clove and cassis supported by supple tannins.
2018 RLV TORO
SILVER-2021 Houston Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition; SILVER-2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
The 2018 RLV Toro is a delicious red blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Merlot. The blend is aged for 18 months with 30% in new French oak barrels and puncheons. Tasting Notes: earthy nose, sweet and tart cherry, black currant and spice, with grippy tannins. Pairs well with any roast, steaks or chops!
2018 RLV III
SILVER-2020 Lone Star International Wine Competition; SILVER 2020 Houston Rodeo Uncorked! International Wine Competition
One of our flagship wines! III signifies the 3 grape varietals used in the making of this Rhone style white wine blend: Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne. Each of these varietals were fermented separately in closed stainless steel tanks with partial MLF. The blend was then aged 9 months in stainless steel and 5% oak barrels. Tasting notes: Floral nose, with bright peach and apricot notes leading to mango and pineapple with modest acidity and pleasant finish.
LE SPRINT BLANC BRUT
For the start of the party . . . and throughout, we are offering the RLV Discovery Series sparkling wine. This lovely wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes done in the traditional champagne method imported from Provence just for RLV Rancho Loma Vineyards. Limited quantities available so order now.
2017 RLV PORTEJAS
For dessert & cheese, we are releasing RLV’s first Texas style port. Our 2017 Portejas is made from the traditional port grape varietal, Touriga Nacional and aged in neutral barrel for 30 months. A wonderful treat to finish the dinner & party. Tasting Notes: Black raspberry and raisins with carmel and cocoa.
